Every gym has a floor. Ours has names on it.

For the second year in a row, Victory Cheer & Tumble closed out the season by inviting our graduating seniors to sign the spring floor before they left. No big production, no fanfare — just a marker, a name, and a quiet moment on the mat that means more than it looks like from the outside.

Why We Started This

A spring floor isn't just where routines happen. It's where confidence gets built rep by rep, where friendships form over long practices, and where some of the biggest memories of these kids' lives take shape — the first time they landed a skill they'd been chasing for months, the season they finally hit zero, the routine that got them to Summit.

We wanted a way to mark that. Something permanent. Something the athletes coming up behind them would literally practice on top of every single day.

So two years ago, we started asking our seniors to sign the floor before they walked out the door for the last time.

What It Means

Here's the thing about a tradition like this — it doesn't stay small. Every year it grows. Every year there are more names, more stories, more athletes who spent years of their lives on this exact stretch of floor.

Years from now, a nine-year-old walking into tumbling class won't know all those names. But she'll be standing on top of them anyway — reminded, whether she realizes it or not, that she's part of something bigger than one class or one season. That's the whole point. It's not just a floor. It's a foundation.

Two Years In

This year's group of seniors added their names right alongside last year's. Watching it happen the second time around hit differently — it wasn't a one-off idea anymore, it was officially *ours*. A real tradition, with real history starting to build.

We can't wait to see how many names are on that floor five years from now. Ten years from now.
