Competition season is almost here, and we couldn’t be more excited to see our athletes hit the floor and show off everything they’ve been working on! If you’re a new cheer parent, you might be wondering what exactly competition season looks like and how to prepare. Don’t worry — we’ve got you covered.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s coming, what to expect, and how to help your athlete have the best season ever!

Practice Gets Real
As competition season gets closer, practices will start to feel a little more intense. Routines are being perfected, stunts are being locked in, and every motion matters. You’ll see your athlete working hard — and sometimes coming home tired — but that’s all part of the journey!

Parent Tip: Help your athlete stay fueled with healthy snacks, plenty of water, and a good night’s sleep. Encourage them to stretch and take care of their body after long practices.

Uniforms, Hair, and Makeup
Every team has a specific “look” for competition days — from the uniform to the bow to the sparkle! You’ll get detailed instructions from coaches about what to wear, how hair should be styled, and what makeup is required.
Don’t stress — we’ll make sure you know exactly what to do before the big day.

Parent Tip: Create a small “competition kit” to keep in your car or bag — include hairspray, bobby pins, safety pins, snacks, and water. Trust us, you’ll thank yourself later!

Competition Days
Competition days are long but full of fun and excitement. Teams arrive early to warm up, stretch, and practice before hitting the mat. After performing, there’s usually time to watch other teams, grab a bite, and then stay for awards.
Your athlete will perform their routine for judges and an audience — and you’ll get to cheer them on from the stands!

Parent Tip: Bring comfy shoes, a charged phone for photos and videos, and your loudest cheer voice!

It’s About More Than Trophies
Winning is always exciting, but the real magic of competition season is the growth your child experiences. They’ll learn confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and what it means to work hard toward a shared goal.
You’ll see their pride when they walk off the mat knowing they gave it their all — and that’s what it’s all about.

We’re In This Together
At Victory Cheer & Tumble, we’re not just a gym — we’re a family. Every parent, athlete, and coach plays an important part in making competition season special. So don’t be afraid to ask questions, meet other parents, and celebrate the little moments along the way.

We can’t wait to see your athlete shine this season! Let’s bring that Victory energy everywhere we go!
