“You can’t accomplish your dreams from your comfort zone”
Mental blocks can be frustrating and can cause a lot of stress and anxiety. The good news is that there are ways to help overcome them. Here are some tips that may help:
- Take a break – Taking a break can help clear your head and give you a fresh perspective on the skill at hand.
- Get organized – Focus on one skill at a time and prepare your mind. Think of the skill before you go into practice.
- Talk it out – Talk to a friend or mentor about the skill, as they may be able to help you see things differently.
- Back to the basics- go back to a skill you are comfortable doing to remember why you love tumbling.
- Make a list – Writing down the steps you need to take can help break the task down into manageable pieces.
- Change your environment – Sometimes changing your environment can help to break the mental block. Switch to a different floor or mat to see which area you feel more comfortable in.
- Try something new – Trying something new can help to stimulate your brain in a different way and may help you think of new ideas..
Always remember that your mental block does not define who you are.
